Junior School Homeroom Teachers - 2026/27 Academic Year
Established in 1995 and located in the heart of downtown Toronto, The Rosedale Day School (RDS) is an independent, co-educational school serving students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. The Rosedale Day School is currently seeking 2 Junior School Homeroom Teachers:
#1 - SK - Parental Leave Contract, 1.0 FTE, Beginning on August 27, 2026 until June 24, 2027
#2 - Grade 2 - Continuing Contract, 1.0 FTE, Beginning on August 27, 2026
The Teachers report to the Deputy Head of School and work collaboratively with teachers and parents to support students. This opportunity will provide experience in a teaching environment that consists of a strong and supportive staff and school culture, and a connected community.

- Thorough understanding of Growing Success and current practices of assessment and evaluation.
- Expertise developing a program of inquiry, unit plans and lesson plans, with a focus on universal design for learning, structured literacy, numeracy, pluralism, inquiry-based learning and executive functioning
- An openness to work collaboratively within a student-centered environment and contribute positively towards a strong staff culture and morale
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
- A growth mindset of continuous improvement and learning
- The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the co-curricular life of the School. Candidates with experience and qualifications in coaching (and other co-curricular activities) will be given special consideration

Qualifications:
- Membership in the Ontario Teaching Certificate in good standing (or equivalent) with qualifications at the primary/junior level.
- Knowledge of the Inquiry and Project-based approach to learning
- Knowledge and classroom experience with Google Workspace & Classroom is considered an asset
- Previous Independent School experience is considered an asset

Our comprehensive benefits package includes health and dental coverage that is effective on your first day of employment.
Annual compensation is based on our Faculty Grid, which factors in up to 12 years of teaching experience. The salary range based on our 2026/27 salary grid is $60,000-$79,991 for early-career professionals, advancing to $84,490-$110,00 for faculty with 6+ years of experience. Placement on the grid is determined by a review of verified years of teaching.
