Bayview Glen is currently seeking a recent Faculty of Education graduate to fill the full-time contract position of Associate Teacher, Lower School & Preschool.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced educators, gaining valuable direct experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and student engagement. This role is designed to provide a new graduate with a supportive environment to apply their theoretical knowledge, collaborate with seasoned professionals, and develop the foundational skills necessary for a successful career in teaching.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Preparing, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans for students consistent with the Bayview Glen curriculum and differentiating these plans according to student needs;
- Providing academic support to students on an individual and small group capacity;
- Creating a positive educational environment for students with a demonstrated commitment to student development and success;
- Using a variety of teaching strategies and instructional materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students;
- Collaborating with early learning educators to establish age and stage-appropriate learning inquiries based on current observations and interests;
- Ensuring the environment supports the needs of learners, and the Reggio-Inspired pedagogy found within our Early Years Programmes;
- Supporting our supply teacher needs;
- Participating in sports coaching and co-curricular responsibilities.
What You’ll Need:
- A Bachelor of Education Degree in Primary/Junior or equivalent;
- A member, in good standing, with the Ontario College of Teachers;
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (R.E.C.E.) would be an asset;
- Experience working alongside elementary students and early learners (toddler/preschool);
- Understanding of child development and open to learning ELECT, HDLH and CCEYA;
- Strong organization and time management skills;
- Strong computer skills with excellent knowledge of MS Office and databases;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adjust style to communicate to different audiences (i.e., children, parents, staff, etc.);
- Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, welcoming and engaging demeanor;
- Ability to work independently with assigned tasks and collaboratively with grade level teachers and other faculty and staff members;
- Flexibility to adapt to varying responsibilities and assignments within a fast-paced environment;
- Valid child and infant First Aid/CPR-C certification;
- Up to date Immunizations and new TB results.

Compensation follows the School’s Associate faculty salary grid with a hiring range from $57,225 to $67,200.
