Pickering College is recruiting a qualified Mathematics & Science Teacher for our Middle School. Our Middle School program is taught from an interdisciplinary approach, where Mathematics and Science are explored through integrated projects and real-world problems. We are seeking a candidate who possesses passion, compassion, subject-area expertise, instructional excellence, and proven curriculum innovation. Additionally, they must demonstrate an eagerness to be involved in the co-curricular programming at the school.
This position commences August 31, 2026.
Specific Responsibilities include:
· Teach Mathematics and Science
· Teach an elective course and self-directed learning block
· Lead and participate in co-curricular activities
· Lead Student Advisor Group
· Participate in Department & Division meetings, professional development and whole school activities
Experience and Qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Education, Intermediate/Senior
- 1-3 years of teaching experience
- Mathematics and/or science qualifications
- Member in good standing with Ontario College of Teachers
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario curriculum
- Passion for innovation and creativity in education
- Commitment to students’ academic and personal success, including development of learning skills
- Ability to engage with, and implement the objectives of Pickering College’s Global Leadership Program
- Effective integration/use of technology to enhance teaching and learning
Pickering College provides a competitive compensation package, including a Health Benefits Plan and participation in the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. The salary range is based on our salary grid and ranges from $63,881 to $112,509
