Pickering College is recruiting a qualified French teacher for our Junior School. The successful candidate will teach French to students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 5, fostering a love of language learning through engaging, age-appropriate instruction. We are seeking a candidate who possesses passion, compassion, subject-area expertise, instructional excellence, and proven curriculum innovation. Additionally, they must demonstrate an eagerness to be involved in co-curricular programming at the school.
This position commences Monday, August 31, 2026.
Specific Responsibilities include:
· Teach French to Junior School students (Junior Kindergarten - Grade 5)
· Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate French language lessons
· Lead and participate in co-curricular activities
· Participate in Department & Division meetings, professional development and whole school activities
Experience and Qualifications include:
· Bachelor of Education, Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate
· French as a Second Language (FSL) qualifications
· 1-3 years of teaching experience preferred
· Member in good standing with Ontario College of Teachers
· Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario curriculum
· Passion for innovation and creativity in education
· Commitment to students' academic and personal success, including development of learning skills
· Ability to engage with, and implement the objectives of Pickering College's Global Leadership Program
· Effective integration/use of technology to enhance teaching and learning
· Experience working with young learners and creating a positive, nurturing classroom environment
Pickering College provides a competitive compensation package, including a Health Benefits Plan and participation in the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. The salary range is based on our salary grid and ranges from $63,881 to $112,509
