Crescent School invites applications for the following position:
Facilities Caretaker
Afternoon Shift: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager and the Evening Facilities Supervisor, the Caretaker works with a team of Caretakers ensuring that assigned areas are cleaned and tidied to meet the high standards that the School sets.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining property cleanliness and functionality, thorough sanitization, debris-free areas, and creating an inviting environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Cleaning classrooms, offices, washrooms and stairwells.
- Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping or scrubbing and dusting surfaces.
- Straightening furniture, cleaning boards.
- Emptying garbage receptacles and taking the contents outside to the garbage bins.
- Replacing paper supplies in washrooms.
- Cleaning windows as necessary.
- Setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for various school events.
- Managing cleaning supplies, equipment, and maintenance schedules.
- Prioritizing tasks, establishing cleaning routines, and maintaining inventory levels to streamline operations.
- Organize common areas, storage spaces, and maintenance facilities.
- Monitor and manage parking areas, including directing traffic flow during peak times or school events.
- Weekend responsibilities as needed, with occasional weekend availability required.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
The successful candidate will have:
- Provide cleaning services with strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
- The ability to enhance resident satisfaction and uphold high standards within the community.
- The ability to provide excellent customer service by responding promptly, courteously, and empathetically to inquiries, requests, or concerns fosters a positive living environment.
- Adaptability to changing priorities, emergencies, and school needs is crucial for maintaining smooth operations on the property.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with the community through empathy, patience, and professionalism fosters trust and a sense of belonging.
- A strong desire to work as part of a team.
- The ability to lift 25 lbs.
- The ability to occasionally work on ladders.
- A sense of joy.
- Previous experience in cleaning, painting, plumbing repairs, electrical work, and minor carpentry is desirable.
