Our vibrant Junior School is looking for an innovative and spectacular French language teacher. This is a full-time permanent positioncommencing in late August, 2026. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in fostering an appreciation of French culture and enjoyment of learning a second language.
Position Responsibilities:
- A passion for and demonstrated expertise in French language instruction;
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, preparing and delivering French language learning experiences and assessing student progress in a way that facilitates authentic engagement;
- A commitment to work collaboratively with other faculty, integrating the arts and play into the French curriculum;
- A commitment to Inquiry and Project-Based Learning strategies in a Cooperative Learning environment;
- Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive and equitable classroom culture and a sense of belonging for each student;
- A commitment to the co-curricular life of the school;
- Excellent communication, organization and collaboration skills;
- Strong relationship-building skills and a joy for working with students of this age group (grades 3-6);
- A demonstrated ability to differentiate instructional practices for a diverse community;
- A commitment to professional growth;
- An enthusiastic, kind and positive nature and a progressive and global-minded outlook;
- An individual who models a strong work ethic, a high standard of commitment and professionalism in all interactions with colleagues, students and parents;

Requirements and Experience:
- A Bachelor of Education in good standing eligible with the Ontario College of Teachers;
- Undergraduate degree in French;
- Relevant teaching experience in the grades 3-6 range;
- Fluency in both written and oral French;
- A flexible and reflective educator who is open to a variety of pedagogical approaches and able to draw on different methods thoughtfully to meet the needs of students.

Faculty salaries are based on qualifications and experience. The general range for individuals with less than six years of qualifying teaching experience is $74,000-$105,000 and the general range for individuals with more than six years of qualifying teaching experience is $105,000-$138,000. Final placement within the RSGC faculty grid will be based on a combination of factors and will be discussed at the time of offer.
Eligibility to work in Canada and clearance of a Criminal and Vulnerable Sector Background check is required.
