An Unprecedented Campaign with Unprecedented Success
Branksome Hall is building on an extraordinary period of achievement. We are in the final stretch of one of the most successful fundraising campaigns ever undertaken by an all-girls school in Toronto—an ambitious, historic effort that has already secured the largest gifts in our 120-year history and, to date, has raised $41 million to date, exceeding our original goal by 36%.
As this campaign comes to a close, it positions Branksome for continued success, strengthening our momentum as we look ahead to future campaigns and continue to advance the school’s most important priorities.
We are looking for an Associate Director, Campaign and Development Operations who will be a key member of a collaborative, mutually supportive and high-performing team to build on our success and help cement Branksome’s position as an exceptional, accessible and innovative leader in girls’ education.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced leader to play a key role in developing strategy and overseeing its execution—supporting the successful completion of the Make Way campaign while also helping to shape and build Branksome Hall’s next campaign, and advancing the continued growth and development of Branksome Hall’s Advancement program.
Reporting to the Director, Campaign and Development, the Associate Director will play a pivotal role in strengthening and growing every aspect of fundraising by leading the team that supports prospect-facing fundraisers. With oversight of key areas including stewardship, communications, prospect research, and database management, this role ensures the systems, strategy, and support are in place to successfully secure gifts and steward them with care. Working closely with the Director, the Associate Director will help develop and implement the overall fundraising strategy and execute both strategic and tactical plans that support giving at all levels—from annual fund through to transformational gifts.
The successful candidate will also lead, oversee and work alongside four direct reports with:
- Developing strategy and providing oversight to the execution of programs to steward gifts at all levels;
- The creation of messaging and materials in support of Major and Annual Giving, fundraising events and donor stewardship initiatives;
- Data integrity and records management, gift processing, reporting, analytic tool development and implementation, and database and web integration.
- The prospecting and pipeline process and identifying prospects in support of the Campaign.
Some evening and weekend work, and event attendance to support the goals of the campaign will be required.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement the overall strategy, including detailed business plans and KPI’s for the fundraising team
- Manage direct reports for database, stewardship, campaign communications and prospect research to keep tasks within timelines, and providing direction and guidance to advance fundraising priorities
- Execution of the comprehensive Donor Experience Program business plan and calendaring timelines across Major Gifts, Annual Giving and Planned Giving
- Development and deployment of all impact reports, and provide strategic input to Donor & Giving Report ensuring accuracy of donor lists
- Develop and facilitate communication strategies for Campaign message based on fundraising priorities and initiatives
- Collaborate with various stakeholders across the department and organization to ensure preparation and accuracy in execution of fundraising initiatives, communications, and events
- Oversee vendor relationships for materials and adhere to budget’s
- Review response data and analytics to assess effectiveness of communication plans, making recommendations to maximize resources and success
- Use Raiser’s Edge to extract data using queries, develop dashboards and analytical tools, and ensure the overall accuracy and maintenance of the platform
- Identify prospects to maximize financial support by evaluating data points and running the relevant reports around gift data, donor relations, etc.
- Develop detailed research profiles to inform and cultivate solicitation strategies and develop a pipeline for frontline fundraisers
- Monitor local and national news as it relates to the school’s prospects to identify opportunities for support
Candidate Profile:
- A university degree in a related field or relevant experience in advancement
- 7+ years’ progressive leadership in a successful, fast-paced Campaign, Development or Advancement office
- A graduate certificate in fundraising would be considered an asset
- Experience in developing strategic fundraising communications and possesses superior verbal and written communications skills
- Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge software and experience with optimizing processes within a fundraising shop
- Experience in developing and executing Donor Engagement strategies for Major Gifts, Annual Giving and Planned Giving
- Must have excellent prospecting skills and proven ability to uncover leads from databases and other sources
- Demonstrated awareness of the donor relationship cycle (identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship); principles of moves management
- A history of collaborative teamwork, staff management and development
- Professional presence, sound judgment, diplomacy and tact

Target Hiring Range: $97,521.84 - $121,848.48
