Crescent School has been a leader in boys' education since 1913. Located on a beautiful, 37-acre campus in mid-Toronto, Crescent School has students in Grades 3 through 12 (Grades 1 through 12 as of September 2026).

Crescent School invites applications for the following position beginning August 31, 2026:
Primary/Junior Associate Faculty
(One-Year Contract for 2026/2027 Academic Year)
You are a certified teacher at the beginning of your career, looking to build strong relationships, communication and teaching skills, and to immerse yourself in learning. You are committed to professional growth and to developing innovative classroom practices that inspire students' growth and development. Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, teach and/or assess the curriculum for any assigned grade or class, using creative teaching strategies, differentiated instruction, and active pedagogy
- Provide class coverage, as assigned, when faculty are absent and deliver the lesson plan to move learning forward in the absence of the regular class teacher
- Support the Administration team with a variety of tasks that enable the day-to-day operations of the division
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across all divisions and departments
- Integrate the School’s mission throughout all curricular and co-curricular activities
- Develop a variety of strategies to build good relational connections with your students
- Act as a co-mentor to students by providing support, care, and guidance in group settings
- Establish positive and engaging teaching and learning environments with support and coaching from supervisors and experienced faculty on classroom management practices and techniques
- Develop and build classroom management practices to establish a positive and engaging teaching and learning environment
- Lead and/or support co-curricular activities in the areas of Athletics, Arts, Robotics, Business, Outreach, and/or other programs as assigned
- Participate in professional development opportunities, including classroom and teacher observations, division and department meetings, and related training sessions and workshops
- Participate in supervision, duty and evening and weekend events as required
The successful candidate will have:
• A Bachelor’s degree, B.Ed. and membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
• Primary/Junior qualifications
• Reading Part 1 or Special Education Part 1 is considered an asset
• Passion, creativity, and commitment to the role, team and School mission
• A commitment to learning, development and educational excellence
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability and experience to contribute to the co-curricular programs, including expertise in at least one Character in Action area: Athletics, Arts, Robotics, Business, and Outreach
• A growth mindset, curiosity and willingness to accept new perspectives
• Demonstrated experience as a team player and the desire to become fully immersed in the School’s positive and progressive culture
