The Mabin School is a small, independent, co-educational JK to Grade 6 progressive school with a strong commitment to inquiry, integration, and reflection. We are Canada’s first independent Ashoka Changemaker School, and are recognized for instilling the qualities of leadership, teamwork, problem-solving and, most of all, empathy. At The Mabin School, our mission is to create the next generation of original thinkers, adaptive leaders and caring citizens. Achieving academic excellence and honouring student interests are always at the center of inquiry-based learning in the Mabin classroom. All aspects of the child’s development — social, emotional, intellectual, and physical — are considered and given equal importance by our exceptional faculty.
We are looking for a permanent Teacher to teach Physical Education and Health, and coordinate an expanding Athletics program. The Mabin School’s Physical Education and Health program is designed not only to develop physical skills but to promote a joy of activity for one’s health and psychological well-being. The importance of teamwork, cooperation and respect are integral to this goal. All children in Grades 1-6 participate in classes several times a week. We run sports clubs each morning before school, and have a small number of sports teams as well. Choices such as the Basketball Team, Track Team, Soccer Team, Dance Team, Floor Hockey and Shinny complement the Physical Education Program. We are looking to grow our offerings in a way that respects our core values.
