We are looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative Finance-Administrative Assistant to join our administrative team at school. This position and will be responsible for the business operations including financial accounting, and general administrative duties, reporting to Vice Principal – Finance and Operations. This is an integral role in the overall school operations.
Primary responsibilities and desired qualifications of applicant must include the following:
Accounts Payable
Code and match invoices and expense reports to appropriate documentation
Process invoices, expense reports and monthly allowances/donations
Issue payments via EFT, wire or cheque as appropriate
Resolve invoice and expense report discrepancies with vendors and staff
Maintain digital record keeping of all payments and supporting documentation
Ensure compliance with excise taxes (HST/GST) including quarterly remittances
Student Billing / Receivables
Process student account billings including interest and late payment charges
Apply payments to student accounts
Maintain scholarship and bursary billing information
Issue monthly billing statements
Prepare invoices for after school programs
Follow up on receivables
Prepare monthly journal entries
Provide monthly/quarterly account analysis
Assist with working papers for year-end audit
Bank Reconciliations
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare corresponding journal entries
Finance and Administrative Duties
Prepare Donation receipts and match with GL
Prepare Child care tax receipts
Order supplies
Reconcile credit cards
Work with Finance Team on financial components of events and trips
Co-ordinate extra-curricular activities
Support the Vice Principal -Finance / Operations as required

Required Qualifications and Experience
· Bachend Experience:lor’s degree or diploma in accounting
· Minimum of 3 years Experience working in an accounting
capacity
Strong understanding and practical knowledge of accounting concepts
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to multitask
