Human Resources Coordinator

Full-Time Permanent

Join a relationship-based school community where your work is valued, your growth is supported, and collaboration is part of everyday work. At The York School, a co-educational independent school in midtown Toronto offering the International Baccalaureate from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, you will work alongside dedicated colleagues in an environment grounded in Challenge, Community and Curiosity. Every role contributes to the school’s mission by helping create an environment where students feel known, challenged and supported.

If you are energized by meaningful work, strong relationships, and continuous growth in a forward-thinking school environment, we invite you to explore this opportunity.

Given the dynamic and collaborative nature of our school environment, this role is an on-site position requiring to be in the office five days a week from September to June each year. Candidates should be prepared to contribute actively to this in-person, community-focused environment.

JOB PURPOSE

The York School is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join our growing HR team in a newly created position. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering exceptional service, and is excited to contribute to a positive employee experience.

We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, takes initiative, and brings a strong sense of ownership to their work. You ask thoughtful questions, enjoy figuring things out, and don't wait to be asked before taking action. You are resourceful, organized, and attentive to the details, but also interested in understanding the bigger picture and finding better ways of doing things.

Just as importantly, you enjoy connecting with people. Success in this role means being approachable, responsive, and actively engaged in our school community, building meaningful relationships with colleagues across both campuses and developing a strong understanding of the people and teams we support.

As part of a small, collaborative HR team, you will have opportunities to grow your HR experience, contribute ideas, take on new challenges, and explore how technology and emerging tools can help us deliver more efficient and effective HR services.
