St. Andrew’s College and St. Anne’s School are seeking a skilled and collaborative Maintenance & Capital Projects Coordinator to join the Property & Facilities team. This full-time role coordinates and supports a wide range of facility projects across both campuses, including major capital construction and building renewal initiatives, as well as day-to-day maintenance, repair, and operational improvements. The role also contributes to the ongoing maintenance and operation of campus buildings, equipment, and school residences.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical skills, sound judgment, and a service-oriented approach to their work. They will be equally comfortable coordinating projects, working with consultants and contractors, and contributing to hands-on maintenance activities as a member of the Property & Facilities team. Success in this role requires a collaborative, team-oriented approach, excellent organizational skills, and a willingness to support operational priorities while assisting team members as needed.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinating assigned capital, renovation, infrastructure, and maintenance projects from planning to implementation.
· Liaising with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, technicians, and internal stakeholders to support project coordination.
· Reviewing quotations, supporting procurement activities, and monitoring project costs.
· Performing general maintenance across campus buildings, equipment, and school residences.
· Responding to maintenance work orders, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general repair tasks.
· Supporting the maintenance team with day-to-day operational requirements and emergency response as needed.
· Providing regular updates and status reports on assigned projects.
· Overseeing project activities to help ensure that requirements, timelines, and safety standards are met.
· Following all organizational policies and processes, including health and safety requirements.
· Performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Attributes
- Secondary school diploma required. Post-secondary education in construction, facilities management, engineering technology, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience in the trades, or an equivalent combination of training and experience in a hands-on facility or maintenance environment, is an asset.
- Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and building envelope components.
- At least three years of experience coordinating construction, renovation, maintenance, or capital projects, including contractor management, procurement, tendering, budgeting, and project coordination.
· Understanding of construction project processes, including procurement, tendering, change management, scheduling, and construction trades, practices, and equipment.
· Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and landscape drawings and specifications.
· Ability to safely and effectively use hand and power tools and contribute to the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of campus buildings, equipment, and facilities.
· Ability to use technology to support communication, reporting, and coordination requirements.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assess maintenance issues and identify practical solutions.
· The ability to prioritize work, respond to equipment or building-related issues, and minimize potential damage or service disruption.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with co-workers, staff, contractors, consultants, students, parents, and school leadership.
· Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
· The ability to keep management informed of issues and recommend appropriate actions.
· Sound judgment and accountability when making decisions in the best interests of the school community.
· The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· A commitment to safe work practices and compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and school policies.

The salary for this position is dependent on qualifications and experience and will range from $75,000 to $90,000.
