Job Summary
All KCS faculty play an important role in the early years of a child's development. In addition to teaching various subjects, a KCS Junior School Homeform teacher serves as the main contact for a class, maintaining excellent communication and relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
KCS Junior School is seeking a Homeform Teacher with Grade 1 - 6 qualifications for a Full-Time Permanent Role. Candidates who value and are experienced with an intentional approach that utilizes direct instruction, project-based learning, experiential and place-based learning will find this position rewarding. Candidates should have demonstrated experience and history of leveraging student strengths, talents, and passions in learning, while holding their well-being at the centre. Responsibilities
1. Engage as a collaborative, flexible, co-creator of a school experience that delivers extraordinary learning and growth.
2. Design and lead in-class teaching and learning experiences that align with the KCS philosophy and reflect excellence in instruction, planning, assessment, and reporting.
3. Communicate with colleagues and families with professionalism, clarity, and care, ensuring all practices are aligned with Growing Success.
4. Lead and/or support a minimum of 2 clubs and teams per year.
5. Actively contribute to the life of the school by supporting school-wide events, including assemblies, ceremonies, and community gatherings.
6. Engage in ongoing professional learning and share that learning to support achievement of the mission.
7. Work with school administration and leadership to establish a community where all demonstrate the KCS Habits of Mind, Body and Action, and our Three School Rules to develop student self-discipline that is rooted in instruction, review, support, high expectations, understanding, and unconditional respect.
8. Other duties as required
Job Requirements
• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Education plus a record of exemplary professional learning, both formal and informal
• Experience teaching and learning while attending to different learning needs and strategies for supporting a variety of learners
• Certification from the Ontario College of Teachers and be a member in "Good Standing"
• Relevant elementary teaching experience
• Evident willingness to engage in continuous improvement efforts through PD, seeking feedback, and participating in a faculty professional growth plan
• Strong in community-building, communication skills, critical thinking, initiative, flexibility, and attention to detail
• Enthusiasm for the KCS mission and vision, including how they will be realized in their teaching at KCS

KCS follows a salary grid that is dependent upon both qualifications and years of experience. The salary grid ranges from$ 44,551 to $98,417 for up to five years of applicable experience, commensurate with respective level of qualifications and from
$63,301 to $126,132 for candidates with six years to ten years or more experience.
