Job Summary
KCS is seeking a Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for operationalizing and advancing the visibility and reputation of Kingsway College School across the Greater Toronto Area, CIS Ontario and CAIS communities. As a member of the Senior Administrative Team, this role develops and executes a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that brings to life the school’s unique value proposition as a JK-12 co-ed independent day school.
The Senior Manager oversees and executes a coordinated and consolidated branding and communication strategy, manages a direct report, and leads integrated campaigns across digital and traditional platforms to grow awareness, drive enrollment, and support student retention. As both a lead strategist and hands-on practitioner, the Senior Manager works collaboratively with Admissions, Advancement, Academics, and other departments to deliver a consistent, compelling brand story that reflects KCS’s culture of lifelong learning, leadership, and community.
Strategic Execution
- Translate the school’s overarching objectives into actionable marketing and communication plans that support the long-term strategic vision.
- Execute a branding campaign for the school’s strategic plan in June of 2027, including the design and development of digital and print assets, copy and communication modalities.
- Develop, track and report on KPI and other metrics to ensure strategy implementation is effective.
Brand Stewardship
- Manage and refine the school's brand identity and messaging, serving as the primary lead for consistency across all touchpoints, platforms and departmental materials.
- Manage digital media strategy and video production workflows to broaden KCS’s reach and deepen engagement with online audiences.
- Design, execute, and analyze integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social media to drive market share and brand awareness.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, using data-driven insights and campaign analytics to refine tactics and identify and develop growth opportunities.
Content Oversight
- Direct the production of high-impact, on-brand content, including video, social media, and web assets, ensuring a high standard of storytelling.
Leadership
- Act as a key collaborator with Admissions, Advancement, and Academics to ensure marketing deliverables support enrolment and fundraising targets.
- Lead and mentor the Communications Coordinator, providing day-to-day guidance, professional development, and project oversight.
- Support the Communications Coordinator in their professional development and growth.
- Support the management of the marketing and communications budget, tracking expenditures and optimizing resource allocation to maximize campaign ROI.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
- - An advanced degree is an asset.
- Minimum of three-to-five years of experience in marketing and communications, with experience in a management or project lead capacity.
- - Experience in an Independent School setting is an asset.
- Demonstrated success in executing strategies that build brand awareness and achieve measurable outcomes, such as enrolment growth or lead generation.
- Mastery of integrated marketing strategies across digital, print, content, and social media platforms, with a focus on modernizing the brand’s digital footprint.
- - Experience with Finalsite EMS and CMS is an asset
- Exceptional proficiency in written, visual, and verbal communication, with a proven ability to "find the story" and craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Strong project management skills, including overseeing program budgets, managing production timelines, and successfully coordinating multiple simultaneous initiatives.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the school and engage positively with diverse stakeholders, from the Senior Administrative Team to faculty and parents.
