Position Description

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
To be considered for this position, candidates will possess the following qualifications, knowledge, and experience:
- Relevant university qualifications, preferably at the graduate level (e.g.
- Bachelor of Science and Master of Education);
- Member of the Ontario College of Teachers in ‘Good Standing’, with qualifications in chemistry and physics;
- A minimum of 3 years of exemplary teaching experience;
- Experience in an independent school setting;
- Experience teaching chemistry and physics at the senior level
- Comprehensive understanding of current educational practices in the areas of curriculum planning and implementation of the most recent Ontario Ministry of Education Science curriculum and assessment practices in line with Growing Success (2010);
- Knowledge of differing learning needs and a toolbox of strategies for facilitating student success in science;
- An ability to work in a collaborative environment;
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, time-management and communication skills;
- Energy, commitment and a readiness to participate in the co-curricular travel program, and the diverse life of the school community;
- Working knowledge of the French language would be an asset.
