We are looking for an Advancement Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Head of School, the Advancement Officer is responsible for leading all initiatives that create a community wide appreciation for and engagement with the Schools Annual and Major Gift Fundraising priorities.

DIRECT REPORTS: Advancement and Alumnae Coordinator
SALARY RANGE: $65,000 – 95,000

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Identify short and long term strategic priorities for the Advancement team that support the school’s strategic priorities and build and execute the programs that support these priorities.
- Build authentic relationships with community members that focus on engagement through event attendance, volunteerism and giving.
- Build productive relationships with both external (suppliers, local organizations and the Town of Whitby) and internal partners (IT, Communications, Senior Leadership, Faculty and Staff) to facilitate the execution of both strategic development and program execution.
- Ensure that Advancement program volunteers are provided with a positive and rewarding experience that leads to further engagement.
- Plan and execute the Annual Fund Campaign; Fall solicitation, Giving Tuesday, graduation class gift, faculty and staff giving, Spring solicitation, personal outreach.
- Support the Head of School and Board Chair with Major Gift solicitation; prospect identification, research and proposals.
- In partnership with the Advancement and Alumnae Coordinator plan and execute engagement, cultivation and donor stewardship events; such as the Fall Donor Appreciation reception, Spring Leadership Giving Dinner, Local and International Alumnae Socials.
- Plan and execute the donor stewardship program for both Annual and Major Gift giving including the creation and production of the annual Donor Impact Report.
- Set annual measurable goals for both engagement and dollars raised.
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting of monthly giving statistics to track progress and identify areas for improvement or shifts in tactics.
- Provide a monthly giving and engagement update to the Head of School and Board.
- Partner with the Finance department to ensure the accurate and timely processing of all on and off-line gifts and tax receipts.
- Oversee the Advancement Budget.
- In partnership with the Advancement and Alumnae Coordinator, manage all aspects of the Advancement database Raisers’ Edge (RE); data entry and integrity, research, preparation and production of reports and mailing lists, and event tracking.
- Work in collaboration with IT to maintain software updates, maintenance and procedural policies.
- Maintain accurate and timely moves management records in Raisers’ Edge.
- Manage, coach, and collaborate with the Advancement and Alumnae Coordinator in delivering meaningful alumnae and parent engagement programming.
Here are the qualifications and attributes you need to have:
- Warm and friendly, able to form and maintain relationships with parents, students, alumnae, and others;
- A sense of humour, flexible, creative, ethical;
- An innate ability to stay organized;
- Able to engage members of the School’s board, parents, students, staff and alumnae in assisting with fundraising;
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills;
- Occasional travel required;
- A belief in girls’ education and commitment to the School’s mission, vision and values.
- A post-secondary degree or diploma;
- Five to seven years of experience working in a fundraising setting with a proven track record of executing Annual Fund plans and/or Major Gift ($10,000+) solicitation.
- Experience planning and executing community engagement and/or donor solicitation and stewardship events;
- Preferred experience in an educational setting;
- Experience working with Raiser’s Edge NXT is an asset.
